I founded Analysis Excellence as a boutique consultancy dedicated to helping organisations understand, assess, and strengthen the quality of their analytical work through a more structured, rigorous, and methodologically grounded approach. It operates in a highly specialised niche for which there is, to my knowledge, no comparable alternative. Its focus is intentionally narrow and precise: analytical excellence. The conceptual and operational frameworks underpinning this work are proprietary.

Our signature product, the Analysis Typology Coder, current build 1.02.03.E.o, likewise has no comparable equivalent on the market. It demonstrates how AI-assisted qualitative coding can be made reliable when it is meticulously designed, structurally supervised, and grounded in strong methodological discipline. The current build incorporates 1,500 granular decision nodes across its protocol and addenda, alongside 1,056 decision nodes within the app itself, including 242 strict formal rules, 17 of which constitute the core adjudication moments. Taken together, these features demonstrate the power of carefully designed systems built around transparency, auditability, reproducibility, and procedural control.

I am a Germany-based political scientist, analyst, and consultant whose professional experience spans academia, international research programmes, non-profit leadership, and analytical consulting. I hold a PhD in Political Science from Justus Liebig University Giessen and an MA in Political Science from the University of Manchester. Since 2012, I have taught politics and research methods at university level and have spent more than fifteen years working across research (both in academia and industry), evaluation, and analytical consulting. Over the course of my career, I have contributed to international research consortia, held a senior leadership role in an international non-profit organisation, and worked extensively on analytical research, evaluation methodologies, and the production and assessment of policy-relevant analysis.

Analysis Excellence builds on this experience, but it is not built on individual work alone. I am joined by scholars, policy analysis experts, methodologists, and software developers with whom I have worked and developed professional relationships throughout my career across different countries and professional settings. This is further strengthened by a wider international network of collaborators, including political analysts, evaluation specialists, management experts, and other professionals whose expertise contributes to the broader development of the initiative.

I created Analysis Excellence on the premise that analytical excellence should not remain an abstract aspiration. It should be something that organisations can identify, assess, develop, and manage over time. My aim is to support institutions that produce analysis in building clearer ways of understanding their analytical performance — not only at the level of individual texts, but as an institutional capability that can be cultivated and strategically led.
