Our signature software: Analysis Typology Coder
Lead with Stronger Analysis
Whether commercial, public, academic, or publishing-oriented, we help organisations measure, diagnose, and develop the quality of their analytical and scholarly work in a structured way. Our approach connects software-assisted evaluation, manuscript diagnosis, capacity-building, organisational systems, and strategy to support sustained analytical and scholarly performance over time.
-
Analysis Excellence is a niche, specialised boutique consultancy dedicated to the measurement, development, and institutionalisation of analytical excellence. It combines original conceptual thinking with rigorous methodological design and specialised software implementation. Its work addresses the needs of organisations that produce or publish expert analysis and scholarly manuscripts.
-
Our approach connects diagnostic data, methodological evaluation, capacity-building, organisational system-building, and strategic leadership into one continuous development cycle. The aim is to make analytical and scholarly excellence measurable, developable, and sustainable at the institutional level.
-
We work with think tanks, risk analysis firms, policy research organisations, analytical magazines, research institutes inside and outside universities, academic departments, research centres, doctoral and early-career research programmes, and academic publishers. Our clients produce analysis, research, commentary, or manuscripts for decision-makers, scholarly communities, clients, or the public, and seek a structured way to measure, diagnose, develop, and manage quality over time.
Our Services
Our services are organised around two distinct but related assessment streams.
The first focuses on expert analytical outputs: policy papers, risk analysis, think-tank publications, strategic commentary, and other non-academic forms of professional analysis.
The second focuses on academic manuscripts: journal articles, book chapters, research papers, and scholarly texts produced within research institutes, universities, academic programmes, or publishing environments.
Across both streams, we move from structured diagnostic data to institutional understanding, targeted development, system-building, and strategic improvement.
The aim is not only to assess individual texts, but to help organisations recognise recurring patterns, strengthen internal standards, and develop analytical or scholarly quality over time.
-
A structured review of expert analytical outputs across authors, teams, publication series, or institutional portfolios. It assesses how texts build arguments, develop reasoning, use evidence, handle uncertainty, and reach conclusions. The review identifies recurring strengths, weaknesses, threshold patterns, substantive-type tendencies, confidence issues, and development needs across a body of work.
It is not a content-summary service, fact-checking exercise, media-monitoring tool, or judgement on whether the author’s political position is right or wrong. Its purpose is narrower and more systematic: to show how analytical texts work as analytical objects, where their reasoning is strong or weak, and how an organisation can improve analytical quality over time.
-
A bespoke workshop built around the findings of an EAA review. It translates structured assessment results into practical institutional learning, helping analysts, editors, managers, and leadership address concrete weaknesses, consolidate strengths, and improve analytical practice.
The workshop can focus on issues such as stronger conclusions, better handling of uncertainty, clearer evidentiary use, more disciplined argument structure, reduced commentary drift, or more consistent analytical standards across teams and publication formats.
-
A broader workshop on the principles, structure, and standards of analytical work. It introduces the core foundations of high-quality analysis: what makes analysis analytical, how arguments are structured, how reasoning develops, how evidence should function, how conclusions should be formed, and how analytical judgement can be strengthened.
Unlike the tailored workshop, this service does not require a prior institutional performance review. It is suitable for organisations seeking a shared conceptual and practical framework for analytical quality.
-
A standalone software-supported environment for the structured assessment of expert analytical texts. The EAA module evaluates policy analysis, think-tank publications, risk analysis, strategic commentary, consultancy reports, analytical magazine pieces, and other non-academic professional analytical outputs.
It supports full-text assessment through conclusion-anchored coding, T1–T2–T3 decomposition, Reasoning Autonomy, Axiology Autonomy, argumentative category, substantive type, evidence function, uncertainty, confidence, audit trails, anchors, recalibration, structured results, and cumulative datasets. It is not a generic AI writing tool, sentiment detector, topic classifier, or summarisation system. Its purpose is to make analytical quality assessable, auditable, and comparable across cases.
-
A longer-term cooperation for organisations seeking to monitor, develop, and lead analytical performance strategically. It connects structured review, software-supported assessment, workshops, internal standards, review routines, and institutional learning into a sustained framework for analytical development.
This service is intended for organisations that want to move beyond one-off training or isolated evaluation and build durable analytical capability across teams, products, and leadership processes.
Academic Manuscript Diagnostic
-
A structured diagnostic review of academic manuscripts across authors, series, programmes, or publication pipelines. It identifies manuscript type, knowledge-production mode, strengths, weaknesses, route-specific development needs, and recurring patterns across a body of work.
-
A bespoke workshop built around AMD findings. It helps researchers, editors, and academic teams address concrete manuscript-level issues, improve structural coherence, strengthen argumentation and methodological clarity, and develop stronger publication-ready outputs.
-
A service for research institutes, academic programmes, and publishers seeking to strengthen their internal manuscript-review and quality-assurance processes. It supports the development of more structured, transparent, and reproducible manuscript assessment routines.
-
A standalone software-supported environment for the diagnostic review of academic manuscripts. It supports manuscript classification, question routing, denominator-sensitive assessment, structured result generation, audit trails, and longer-term monitoring of manuscript-development patterns.
-
A longer-term cooperation for institutions seeking to improve manuscript quality strategically across teams, publication streams, or editorial processes. It connects diagnostic review, workshops, internal review systems, and institutional learning into a more sustained framework of scholarly development.
Expert Analysis Assessment
Analysis Excellence was created on the premise that analytical excellence should not remain an abstract aspiration, but should be measurable, developable, and manageable at the institutional level.
